How it all happened…

Creativity has flowed through Annie’s veins since childhood. After high school, she harnessed that creativity through a cosmetology apprenticeship. It wasn’t long before her love for hair turned into a love for makeup, too. After a few years working as a stylist behind the chair & as a bridal hair stylist, she auditioned and was offered a position with CNN’s Washington DC bureau. For nearly 4 years, she worked as a freelance makeup artist to on air talent and guests on the cable network. Simultaneously, through relationships built at CNN and in her hometown of Richmond, Virginia, Annie started working on commercials, television shows, and live sporting events as a hair and makeup artist. All the while, she spent her weekends and free time working weddings and seeing clients for haircuts and color appointments.

Annie was mid pivot professionally when COVID changed the landscape of the film production industry and the world at large. In 2019, she met her now husband, a native of the Tidewater region. In 2020, she moved from east from Richmond to Tidewater and started seeking new opportunities. The shutdown of 2020 gave her time to reflect & plot her next move…

In June of 2020 when the world started to reopen, Annie went back behind the chair as a self employed stylist at G Patton Salon in Norfolk’s Ghent neighborhood. She grew a diverse clientele and loved helping clients find their self confidence.

In July of 2023, Annie and her husband Josh welcomed their son James. Working from home has allowed Annie to balance motherhood and work nicely. During the week, she sees clients for cuts, color, and spray tans while some weekends go to Brides for hair & makeup.
